My name is Jennifer Wardrip. After I had given birth to my third child from my first marriage, I decided to get my tubes tied, not knowing that I would fall in love again and desire to have more children with my new husband, Jacob Wardrip.
Jacob's mother had a tubal reversal operation done by Doctor Levin when Jacob was 16-years-old and gave birth to four healthy babies after her reversal surgery.
In March 2012, I flew from Arizona to Kentucky to have our tubal reversal. The surgery went very well, and I flew home just a few days later. We waited six weeks before trying to conceive but for the first year, we didn't actively try to conceive as we had also just relocated to Kentucky and had plenty to keep us busy.
Shortly after moving to Kentucky, we contacted Doctor Levin to have a hysterosalpingogram done since we had yet to conceive. Dr. L. said my fallopian tubes were open, but we should start charting my cycles to make sure I was ovulating regularly. It turned out that my ovulation was weak, so we began clomid therapy.
In the following four years, we went through fifteen months of clomid, ten IUIs and four months of metformin therapy all part of the free after care. At that point, we thought we had done all that we could, but Dr. L. suggested I get my progesterone levels checked.
We discovered my progesterone level was only .3, which is low, so we started progesterone therapy and just four months later we got our first positive pregnancy test! We were elated! We know that without the help of Dr. L., we wouldn't have gotten pregnant. During one of our first ultrasounds we were told that I may miscarry, but Dr. L. called and urged me to pray and not stress until we knew more.
Dr. Levin and his staff were amazing, and they never let us give up; they were there when we truly needed them.
On February 2nd, 2016 our beautiful tubal reversal baby, Journey Lynn-Grace, was born.
