I wanted to share my story with all the ladies out there who don't believe its possible to have another blessing in your life. I got my tubes tied January 23, 2002, after having my last boy ( so I thought). I have five children, 2 girls and 3 boys. I definitely did not want anymore children. I felt 5 was more than enough. I thought that was the best decision I made. I've been through a lot of up and downs with taking care of my kids, but wouldn't have it any other way.
In 2008, I met the man of my dreams. I didn't know that at first but it didn't take long to know that he was. He was a very nice, considerate, and a loving person. When I introduced him to my kids months later, they took to him like white on rice...lol. We loved being around him, and he loved being around us. In 2010, he proposed to me and I happily said yes!
A few months later we decided that something else was missing, a baby together. He already knew that my tubes were tied a little bit after we met. So we decided to do a bit of Internet searching and we found Dr. Richard Levin. We read the paperwork and agreed that the price, location, and payment plan all sounded great. We had already knew that since we wasn't getting married until October 2012, that we should see if we could get the tubal reversal done, and then try to conceive after the wedding.
On June 6, 2011, I had my tubal reversal surgery. Before the surgery we got to meet all of the staff, including Dr. Levin. They were all friendly and attentive to my every need. Dr. Levin was even a bit of a character at times. He was very funny, but also very professional. It actually calmed me down as I was waiting to start the procedure. Well before I knew it the procedure was done. I couldn't believe how fast that seemed but in all reality it took hours. All I could think about was someday we were going to have a baby together. Dr. Levin did in fact go over all of the dos and don'ts with my fiancÚ. One of the biggest ones was not to try and conceive until after 6 weeks. He also did in fact let us know that everyone is indeed different. Some get pregnant right away and some could take up to a year or better. Well after 2 months had gone by and we decided to go and give it a whirl.
Unfortunately nothing happened. So we decided to keep on trying, and nothing. One year had gone by and I was so stressed out about getting all the negative test, we gave up. Well I had started getting very sleepy and tired all of a sudden. Also getting very sick. I took a pregnancy test and it came back negative. A day before my birthday I decided to take another test and it was still negative. At this point I figured I had needed my iron infusion done. So I called my doctor to get blood drawn and it came back fine. So at this point I don't know what was
wrong. Well 5 weeks later I was still feeling the same, and decided it wouldn't hurt to take another test. To my surprise it came back positive. I was in disbelief, but excited. It took us exactly 1 year and 2 months to get pregnant, and we wasn't even trying anymore.
April 27, 2013, we had a beautiful baby boy thanks to Dr. Levin and all of his staff. I have referred some friends to Dr. Levin. I hope their experience is just as great as mine was. Thanks guys!!
