In 1992, my tubes were tied at the age 24. I had a beautiful daughter and unfortunately, in a troubled marriage. Although very young, this was the best decision for me at the time. However, many years later, I met a wonderful man and we married in September 2005. My new husband did not have children of his own so we began our journey of finding Dr. Levin and the possibility of tubal ligation reversal.

At the age of 40, on July 18th, 2006, Dr. Levin performed my tubal ligation reversal surgery. The surgery went well and after a 6-week recovery period, we began trying to conceive.

In May 2007, we got our first positive pregnancy. However, much to our disappointment, we lost our baby after 6 weeks. Then again, in June 2008, we were pregnant again. This pregnancy also was lost at 9 weeks. You can imagine our disappointment and by this time, discouragement had set in. We did not give up though and kept trying. On July 15, 2009, I was thru trying to conceive. I was 43, too old (I thought) and accepted that it just wasn’t in God’s plan for us to have our baby. However, God is bigger than we are and everything happens in His timing, not ours. On August 24, 2009, we got another big fat pregnancy!

Shocked and scared I contacted my doctor and began blood work. We were leaving the country in a week, headed to Brazil on a river mission trip, and I was terrified because I was high risk for tubal pregnancies, plus my previous experiences. The Friday before we left, I seen my OB/GYN and an ultrasound was done. Everything was normal and I got the “all clear” to go on our trip. To make a long story short, our precious baby boy, Ethan Daniel da Silva, was born on April 16, 2010 at 1:15 p.m. weighing in at 7lb 15 oz and 21 inches long.

We are so thankful to God for our gift and we thank you, Dr. Levin, for your part in our journey to parenthood. What a blessing Ethan is!! And he joins his big sister, Wendy, age 22. Our family is now complete. Enjoy the photos.
