My story is pretty much the same. I was the 22-year-old single mother of 3 who was in a dead end relationship for 7 years. I had my tubes tied after the birth of my second child. (My third pregnancy happened within days of my tubal reversal according to my ob-gyn who performed the procedure). My Ob-gyn said this is a permanent procedure and cannot be reversed. I made my mind up to have it done since I felt this was going to be my life by taking care of my kids father plus my children so I wanted to focus on getting a better job and not have any more children. After a couple more years living with my childrenís father, I had enough. I threw him out of my life.
Four years pass and I meet a wonderful man online. He was in Iraq at the time and I was working for a shipping company. We had more than an online love connection, something very powerful that made him find me from 11,000 miles away. We married when he came home 5 months after our first conversation.
My husband is the only child in his family and with no children of his own. We discussed having children. He knew the story behind my tubal ligation and said it is okay with him to not have any children of his own. I wanted to give him children. I didnít think that it would be possible to have my tubes reversed but I was curious. So my search began finding a tubal reversal procedure. During my search, Dr. Levin was the top search on the web. I checked his website out. I called his office and Dr. Levin called me back while on vacation! Since my Internet search and our phone conversation 5 years prior to having my reversal, I kept him in mind. I would occasionally check in on his website during the years we were waiting to save the money for the surgery
Fast forward to April 27, 2009. Our day had come to have my reversal. It was a day full of angst and excitement all at the same time. Dr. Levin came to our room after the surgery to check in with me. He is so kind and caring. I knew I made the right choice. We were instructed to wait 6 weeks to start trying for a baby. After the 6-week waiting period we began to try. After 6 months of trying I was feeling discouraged that I was the unlucky one to not be able to conceive. I ordered a HSG to check my tubes. I was told my tubes had a little blockage but they were open. January í10 came with no period. I went to the store and bought 5 pregnancy tests. The first test came back POSITIVE. I couldnít believe it! So I took two more and both came back positive.
I was so excited and happy! My husband was so excited when I sent him the text message. February 20th I miscarried the pregnancy. We were both sad but kept our hopes up to try again. In April my period didnít come. I had a burning suspicion that I might be pregnant. I took 4 tests and each one was a positive. The pregnancy came off without a hitch. In July we found out we are expecting a boy.
Our final journey to becoming new parents has finally arrived. December 22, 2010 at 4:09 p.m. we welcomed a healthy baby boy we proudly named Nolan Joshua.
We want to thank Dr. Levine in helping us achieve our beautiful baby. Without him I know we would have had shattered dreams.
