Thank you so much
Dr. Levin here is my testimony . I'm so happy and proud of our little man. Thanks again for all you did for me and my family. We are enjoying our new addition.
When I was 23 years old, I made the decision to have my tubes tied. I was newly divorced with three small children ( 5, 3,and 4months) and no one to help me raise them. I made the decision to have the tubal so I would not have to raise any more children on my own. I thought this was GODS plan and that I needed to just focus on the three I had and making a better life for us. I went back to school and work fulltime, focusing on us.
Then I met my future husband. I was not looking for him but, when we met it was like we had known each other forever ( GODS plan) . After a few months of dating he met the children and they got along beautifully. He was recently out of the Marines and I had finished school. Life was good. He knew I had my tubes tied and he was fine with it (or so he thought). We made a life together and were married six years after we met.
Things were good. We decided to adopt because we had no idea that I could have a reversal. So we adopted our first child in 2002 and what a joy he brought to us. Then the second and third in 2005. Wow what a full house. But the void was still there. In 2003 we started searching for information on invitro as well as other alternatives. We stumbled across Dr. Levin as well as a few others about the tubal reversal. We discussed it and recieved information from Dr. Levin. But, our finances did not afford the surgery at the time.
Fast forward 5 years and a grandson later and the urge was still there. We were in a better financal place and decided with alot of prayer to go for it. I went to visit an OB/GYN and he told me I was stupid for even considering the reversal because I was too old (39) and that it had been too long since I had my tubes tied (16 and a half years) and that I would be better off and have a better chance of having a baby through in-vitro.
I know I must have called Dr. Levin many of times with my concerns and worries over what this professional had told me. Dr. Levin was so nice and wonderful and explained everything to me. Long story short. We arrived in Louisville October 27 2008 for the surgery. Everyone was extremely nice and professional. I felt at ease. Dr. Levin assured me that I was not the only woman in her late 30's doing this and that he would do his best for us.
GOD bless this man. He did the surgery and gave us our go home instructions. Six week wait before we could start trying. We waited and when the six weeks hit I conceived! I went to the OB/GYN and he told me there was no way I was pregnant because that would be too soon. It takes a year or more if it even happens were his words to me. Well needless to say the pregnancy test came back positive so then he ordered an ultrasound. And there he was on the screen. We were beside ourselves. What a beautiful blessing.
We could not wait to share the news. I wanted to wait awhile but my husband couldn't stand it he blabbed on Christmas day 2008 to the family and New Years day to all the friends and any family that did not hear on Christmas. We delivered on 8/27/2009 a week before our due date. I was huge and ready (lol) so I begged my Dr. to induce me. ( Oh yeah I switched OB's after the pregnancy was confirmed).
We gave birth to a 9lb 11oz 21 inch long little/big boy :) Xavier. GOD was smiling on us when he blessed us with Dr. Levin. We can not thank him enough.
To all that may read this. Don't let anyone discourage you from doing what is in your heart. Dr. Levin is so gifted and talented and he is more than capable. We plan on trying again in about a year. We are so happy and blessed.
Thanks Dr. Levin and staff for blessing us with your hospitality and your skills and knowledge. The Weathers
