Dear Dr. Levin,
I would like to introduce to you the miracle you have given me. His name is Walter Daniel Mendez. DOB 11/16/07, 10:08 am, 6lbs 5 ozs, 19 in.
For years I have known of your services, but never could commit to it due to the fact that I needed a good man to raise a child with especially after the fiasco of a marriage that I was in that ultimately lead to my tubes being tied in the first place. God finally blessed me with an amazing man who had no children of his own, but was ready to accept it and raise my two as his own. I then found you again. My husband agreed to the surgery, and so our journey started with you as our starting angel. Many angels had a hand in our child being born. First you, whom performed the surgery. Second, my godmother whom drove me to Louisville. Third her daughter, whom helped take care of me after surgery until we got home. Fourth my priest, whom helped me ultimately decide that this was the course that I wanted and helped me talk my husband into letting me go through with the surgery. And fifth my children, whom were a God send during the pregnancy. I had my surgery on December 13, 2006. I got my positive pregnancy test on April 2, 2007.
After a very rocky pregnancy, due to complications with hypertension and ultimately ending up with pre eclampsia I delivered at 36 weeks. We tried to induce with Pitocin, but ended up giving in to a C-section. To make matters worse, my son was having breathing troubles when he was born so they had to helicopter him to a bigger hospital so he could receive the care that he needed. The next day my OB decided that I would do much better with my son than in the hospital, so he decided to let me be released a day early. I went to St. Johns in Springfield, MO, where my son was in the NICU. In less than 24 hours he was taken off the oxygen, but now there were other things that he needed to overcome before he could come home. He showed every nurse and doctor that he was a fighter, and that after all that we had done to get him here he was NOT going anywhere. They released him one week later.
Now our family is complete. He is truly a gift from God and it all started with you. I could never thank you enough for giving me so much joy. Every time that I look at him I fall in love again. And after everything that I may have had to go through for him I would gladly do again for my tough little guy.
I do need to tell you one more thing, when my OB did my C-section, he commented on your work. He said that he has had patients who have had a reversal, but he has never seen such good work. That you couldn't even tell that I had even been cut and put back together. He has asked for your name, maybe he plans on sending you some work. I told him that when you want something like this you don't play games with other doctors you go to the best, and he agreed that you had done a wonderful job.
Once again, Thank you.
Angela and Walter Mendez
