All my life I always said I wanted three kids. You know how little girls do. They stake and claim early on what we want! I wanted two boys and my little girl last and that would be it. I was fortunate enough that came true on October 20, 2005. My oldest son Joseph was ten, my second son Jordan was five and my new little girl Jaidyn Layne was born!
I was finished w/ my accomplishment! It was an emergency c section that took place that day. My due date wasn't til December 20. For some reason the specialist I was seeing said delivery was inevitable she had to come out now! I was stunned! I had previously signed papers for my tubal. The specialist said that my baby was sick but, little chance she wouldnt survive. As any mother hanging onto her faith w/ all her might, I held onto that little chance and had the doctor go ahead and cut and tie my tubes.
They reluctantly did what I had insisted. My dream came to an end ten days later on OCTOBER 30, 2005 My little Jaidyn Layne went to heaven. She had downs syndrome and that caused her to have Leukemia in utero (in the womb). Our whole family was devastated. "I couldn't believe this happend to me!" This kind of thing happens to "other people" But, you never dream of it happening to you.
Three weeks after losing Jaidyn, still grieving as any mother would be. I got out of bed one night, I couldnt sleep. It was around 3 a.m. and I walked into my living room and turned on my computer. I regretted so much getting my tubes cut and tied!
I did a search for tubal ligations (reversals to the tubal). The first site the search engine pulled up was Babies by Levin. Dr. Richard Levin, in Louisville, Kentucky. Here I am in Louisiana, have never been to Kentucky and never had surgery before w/ exception of (two c sections - Jordan and Jaidyn). I went thru Dr. Levin's site. I took the virtual tour. Wow! I was sooo impressed! I cried as I prayed the whole time I WAS looking at his site . Suddenly, a peace came over me and I "knew" this man would be my doctor. To still be logical, I viewed the sites of two more doctors. The following day I called all three doctors' offices.
I knew it was time for a final decision. Without hesitation I chose Dr. Levin because of two main reasons that no other doctor had offered. The first was that big expensive German microscope and the second was a statement Dr. Levin made saying he would be your doctor until you conceive and not charge you for anything else once you pay for your surgery. What a commitment to make!
Now for the pricing.Dr. Levin's pricing was very reasonable. But, where would I get the money? I knew somehow someway God would provide. I knew in my heart another child, another daughter. That next day I got a call from my mother in law. She told me about a life insurance policy she and my father in law had taken out on us kids. Mine included a child rider policy that included any child I birthed as long as they took their first breath, which Jaidyn did because she lived ten days. This money was enough to cover my surgery and have enought left over to pay for our trip to Kentucky! When the money came in I immediately got on the phone w/ Dr. Levin's office. I paid for my surgery and my date was set for June 29, 2006..Four months later off to Kentucky I went. It was June 29, and I met Dr. Levin and the wonderful hospital staff at Jewish Hospital.
My surgery took appx. 70 min.. Dr. Levin told my husband and I to wait six weeks (my recovery time)and then do the baby dance. We did what the doctor ordered! A few days shy of being six weeks we did the baby dance! The following month I had a menstrual cycle on July 19, 2006.. The following month which was August, no cycle. The month had come and gone. I thought maybe my body has still not gotten regulated since my surgery. Surley (I thought) I could not be pregnant this fast! Well, long story short (ha) I was pregnant at less than six weeks after surgery! God (I believe using Dr. Levin as His tool) had given me another chance to have another child. ON APRIL 25, 2007 Jasmyn Layne came into this world Weighing 7 pounds 2 ounces, 19 inches long and perfectly fine and healthy! I was blessed to have a second chance at not only a second daughter but, she was healthy!!
So, for the little girl who only wanted three kids. I am just as proud to say I have had four kids, Two boys and two girls. Just one of them little girls is our little Angel in Heaven!!!!!
I cannot thank Dr. Levin enough for being used as a tool by God is what I call him! He has truly made our dreams come true! May God bless you Dr. Levin and continue doing what God has called you to do!
