My name is Michelle Avery-Felton. My husband Travis and I, now have a wonderful baby girl to cherish and love, everyday, thanks to the miracle work of Dr.Levin. He gave us a dream come true...
In July of 1991, I gave birth to my first child, a son. I was not married. As a single parent I tried to find Mr. Right to spend the rest of my life with. Someone who would be a great father figure to my son. In the process, I got pregnant again(no one said I was smart). Again, in November of 1995, I had another son. After having this child, and was still not married, I decided I would get a tubal ligation. I refused to be a single parent anymore and felt it was my destiny. So when my son was a year old, I decided it was time. I couldn't't take any hormone forms of birth control because it made me sick, so I felt this was my only option(outside of not being intimate and that was not going to happen). So I had my tubes burnt and cut. The doctor said I would never be able to have another child, that it was irreversible.
Well, 4 years later and after plenty of lessons learned I found Mr. Wonderful, my now husband, Travis. He was as great to me as he was to my children, and the greatest part was he really wanted to be a father to the boys. There was only one thing missing, a child of his own blood. He wanted to experience the same thing I had never experienced, to have a child with someone you are totally in love with. I wanted this for him as much as I wanted it for myself. During the birth of both my boys, I had no one to share the experience with, as do married couples. The whole experience is such a miracle that it shouldn't be shared alone.
We then began to investigate our options. We thought that in-vitro was the only option since the doctor who performed the sterilization said there would be no turning it around. In searching the Internet, we fell upon Dr.Levin's web page. I read it over and over. I thought it was a farce because I was told I could never get pregnant naturally. Well, the more I read on his site, the more convinced I became that I should call him. When I called him, he was very honest and up front with everything. He said that he thought there was a 65% chance or more that I would become pregnant and that he would do everything in his power to make it happen, and he did...
On July 10th, 2002 we drove from east central Illinois to Dr.Levin. We spent the night at the Jewish Inn and on July 16th had the surgery. Dr. Levin and Ms. Dizney had incredible warmth toward my fiancee(at the time) and I, as well as a great sense of humor! The surgery was very quick. I was a little sore but it was manageable with pain meds. We went back to the hotel room and rested the rest of the day. The following morning we had another visit from the wonderful doctor and his great nurse. They checked me over and told me everything went great. I had to take it easy for a few weeks, but all in all, the procedure was a success.
While I was healing at home, I kept thinking that I did not want to get pregnant again without being married first. We wanted a big wedding, but decided that until we could have that big wedding, we would elope just in case I did get pregnant before the big day. So we had our parent's come and witness our quick marriage. We had scheduled the elopement 4 weeks after the surgery, it also happened to be the weekend I was ovulating.
On August 16th, 2002 we eloped. We also got pregnant that same weekend!!! Nine months later on May 5th, 2003, at 7:55AM, I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. She was 7lbs. 12oz. and 19 and 1/2in. long.
Now, How is that for a dream come true!!!!
