Case Facts:  Lisa had her tubal sterilization performed on 2/8/1993. The doctor used two (2) Hulka clips on each tube. For some reason, some of her omentum (thick fatty tissue found inside of the abdomen) had scarred directly onto each of her tubes, right where the Hulka clips were placed. On 10/23/1999 Dr. Levin removed this omental tissue along with the two Hulka clips on each of Lisa's tubes and then successfully performed a bilateral microsurgical tubal anastomosis on her tubes leaving tube lengths of 8.5 on each side. Within 4 months Lisa conceived but had problems with a couple of pregnancies before finally delivering her son, Daniel Tollefsrud, Jr.

Please enjoy Lisa's recounting of her own story . . .

Hi Everyone, I am Lisa Tollefsrud in Lake Butler, Florida.

I found out about Dr. Levin on the internet and I called and sent him a copy of my operative reports. He had to call the doctor that did my tubal ligation, becuase alot wasn't clear on the notes. He got through and called me right back. He said my reversal could be done. I had clamping and cauterization when I had my tubal ligation done. So I didn't think it could possibly be fixed.

I had to drive 14 hours to get to Louisville, Kentucky where Dr. Levin performs his surgeries. I live in Florida, so it was a long drive. But I would do it again in a heartbeat. I got to Louisville Kentucky on Oct 22, 1999 and checked in at the hotel, which his fee includes the hotel, and the staff there was wonderful to me. The next morning I went to the hospital for surgery. I was in the hospital 1 night and then back to my hotel room for a few nights. I stayed 3 nights and went back to Dr. Levin's office to get my staples out. I never felt a thing while his nurse took out my staples. They are all such wonderful people.

I was pregnant 4 months later, but I miscarried! I then got pregnant 4 months after that. But I was in a car accident and lost the twins. 3 or 4 months later, I was pregnant again. I am now 29 weeks pregnant with "Daniel Jr". Everything is great. If I would never have gotten pregnant, I would still recommend Dr. Levin to anyone.

He and his staff were so good to me while I was there. I could never have been treated any better by anyone. Dr. Levin has always made himself available to me if I called his office. I can e-mail him any time and he always responds to me, usually that very same day. I e-mailed him on a Sunday and he called me at home that very same morning. He will always be there for you after the surgery. Please feel free to contact me at anytime at my email address listed above.

Thank you, Lisa and Daniel Tollefsrud

April 4, 2007 - An Amazing Update! Please Read

As you know, I have two BEAUTIFUL babies, after my reversal that Dr. Levin did. Daniel is now 5, he will be 6 on July 3rd 2007, then came Savanna, she will be 5 on October 1st. 2007, so they are less than 2 years apart. I swore after Savanna was born that 2 babies were enough. But I was lying on the table from my C-Section of Savanna and My OBGYN said to me and my husband, are we gonna tie the tubes now, (as I was all for it while I was pregnant and nothing was changing my mind. But I suddenly said to my OBGYN, NO, I dont want to do this and my husband turned to me and said, Lisa, we have talked about this, I said I know, and I dont want no more babies, but I just have this feeling that there was something to come, and I flat refused to have my tubes tied again. I think my husband thought I had completely LOST IT!!! to say the least.

And when Savanna was about 6 months old, It came to me one day, while on the internet, that surrogacy was what I wanted to do, just once. As I knew how it felt to not be able to give my husband the children we both wanted. So I started researching and even consulted with Dr. Levin about the issue. So I talked to my husband and then I was on the search for the right couple to help. But I knew I would know when that couple came along. I had some fruit cakes e-mail me and call me, but I knew I would know when the time came. Well, it did, I met a couple and we talked on the phone alot, then we met, and then our families met. It just clicked, I knew that was the couple I wanted to help. As, she, like me, had children from a previous marriage, but unfortunately had to have a hysterectomy and could no longer have children, her new husband of several years, had no children of his own, although he loved her children. (As I had two boys from a previous marriage). They had tried to adopt and both times it fell through, so I knew this was the couple in the same predicumeant, My husband and I was in.

So we had our lawyers draw up the papers, and we set out on the adventure to have them a baby. We went to a doctor in Tampa, he wasn't very good. The couple spent some money and the doctor there finally said I was to old, at 38 to have babies, man, did we prove him wrong, LOL, We went there for invitro several times. Then we decided to change doctors. So we did and I got pregnant the first month. And Ashley Emma was born in February of 2005. A wonderful family. I get pictures and updates on her every six months and I also get lots of stuff in between. They are a great family and they deserved Ashley. They love her so much. And of course, I love her to. But when she was born, I knew I had done what I was set out to do and I had my tubes tied again. I knew there was a reason for all of a sudden of changing my mind, and I guess that was it.

So for all you couples out there, there are great people out there to help you and Dr. Levin IS "THE MAN" to help you. I have never regretted my decision to go to Dr. Levin and I never will. HE is wondwerful. My OBGYN was wonderful with all my pregnancies and even my surrogate baby. He was GREAT!!!!

So Dr. Levin, CHEERS TO YOU for being the wonderful caring man that you are. Anyone, Please feel free to e-mail me with any questions you have. I speak freely about everything.
