My story begins much the same as many others. I married at 18, had a son and a tubal ligation done at 19, and divorced at 24. About a year later, I met a wonderful man who didn't have any children of his own. We married on January 1, 2000. It was very difficult knowing that I would never be able to give him a child. Years went by and I had a friend that told me about getting a tubal reversal. I was so excited and called my husband to share the good news.
I did a great deal of research on the internet and kept coming back to the Doctor my friend used, which was Dr. Levin. Being a nurse, his method seemed to me to be the most logical and he had such high success rates. I called and and got things started. Dr. Levin called me personally and made me feel so at ease. He answered my questions thoroughly and I knew he was the one, without a doubt, that I needed to do my reversal. My husband had a semen analysis done and the results were not as good as what we expected but we continued on our journey.
On January 18, 2007, I had my tubal reversal with Dr. Levin. The staff at Jewish Hospital was phenomenal! The next morning, Dr. Levin and Venica came to my room and I was then told that I had one tube that was 2.0 centimeters. The right tube could not be put back together so it was left open. I was so devastated! I just knew that I would never get pregnant with a tube that small. I immediately began to research my odds and questioned everyone in the tubal reversal group. I had the smallest tube of anyone in the group. I was so upset.
We had a 6 week wait before we could begin to try to conceive. I started taking birth control just prior to the end of my 6 week wait. We had so much going on that we felt we needed to wait for a short period and give my tiny tube extra time to heal. I stopped taking the pill in early May and we began actively trying to conceive. Every negative test was a bigger blow than the previous one. But then, I got my first positive home pregnancy test on August 12, 2007. I was shocked! I went and bought nearly every brand on the shelf and tested over and over. All of them were positive! I will never forget that day! I couldn't believe what I was seeing!
I got in touch with Dr. Levin the next day and he ordered my blood work. My progesterone was low and he quickly called in progesterone suppositories for me. He was so attentive and quick to get things done. I soon had my first ultrasound and the technician told me that I had ovulated on my right side which was the side with the 2.0 cm. tube. Dr. Levin was there for me until he knew it was safe to release me to my chosen OB/GYN. He was wonderful!
I had a healthy pregnancy and on April 14, 2008, I gave birth to our tubal reversal baby. We named her Londen Claire Sanders. She is nothing short of a miracle from God and Dr. Levin!
We could never find enough words to express our gratitude to Dr.Levin. I highly recommend him to anyone and everyone. We will forever sing his praises! I firmly believe that if I had used any other Doctor, Londen would not be here today. Dr. Levin was able to skillfully put back together a tiny tube that was enough to give us our miracle baby. It is our sincere hope that our story brings others hope and confirmation that Dr. Levin is the wise choice, THE ONLY CHOICE! You could not make a better choice than Dr. Levin. Our baby Londen is living proof!
