My Story has been a long journey for our family. I got my tubes tied in 1997 at the birth of my daughter I was 30 years old at that time. When our daughter was 2 years old we knew we made a mistake of getting my tubes tied because we wanted to have another child. But it was too late.
We didn't know that tubal ligations could be reversed. When Renee was 5 yrs old we found out that she had a brain tumor. We were told that she had six months to live; we kept her for six and a half months. I was in a brain tumor support group and found out about tubal reversals from a member of that group.
My husband and I did a lot of investigating about tubal reversals. We had a consult with a local doctor in our area of Rochester, NY and were not satisfied or comfortable with him. I had a phone consult with Dr. Levin in February 2005, and I was told that I had a 70% to 85% rate of conceiving. Wilson (my husband) and I had decided that if we had a 25% chance we would do the surgery.
We'll on March 14, 2006 Wilson and I flew to Kentucky for our tubal reversal. Dr. Levin and his staff were wonderful. I had my TR on March 15th, 2006. After my surgery I was told that I had 6 cm. of tube on the right, and 7 cm of tube on the left. Well I thought I was going to get pregnant in about a month but it didn't happen, I got pregnant in June 2006, three months after my reversal not bad for a 39 yr old.
My husband an I were so excited we could not wait for this baby to be born. In the meantime Dr. Levin and I kept in touch via email. On April 3, 2007 I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy my 5th c-section. Wilson Jr was 6 pounds and 15 ozs. We have Dr. Levin and his excellent staff at the Jewish hospital to thank for our growing family.
In February of 2008 we found out that we were pregnant again, I am 41 yrs old now, once again we were excited and jumping with joy. My pregnancy was fine I did not have any problems nor did I expect to. Our second miracle baby another boy was born on September 16, 2008. He was 6 pounds and 13 ozs, another beautiful baby. We named him Julian Wilson Augustave, we are so proud of our sons and we love them more than anything in the world.
Dr Levin we are so happy that you came into our lives and we just wanted to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the wonderful work that you and your staff do. We hope that you continue to change liives like you have changed ours. Words cannot express how we feel.
Thank you so very much.
