My name is Lisa and my story began when I was 26 years old. I had an 8 year old son and an 11 year old son. My husband didn’t want anymore children so we decided that I would get my tubes tied. Even though I still wanted another child, I felt that it would be selfish to bring a baby into the world with only one parent that wanted it. I knew it was a mistake as soon as I scheduled the appointment. I cryed all the way to the hospital the morning of the surgery. Just three months after I had the procedure done my husband left me for another woman. He said to me that he had been looking for a way out of our marriage for a long time. I was devastated. If he knew we had no future together why would he put me in the position of having my tubes tied knowing I still wanted another child?
Little did I know that I would be literally meeting the man I had always dreamed of. Immediately we began to fall in love. David had no children of his own. So I was honest with him from the beginning and explained that I couldn’t have children. He said that I could have a tubal reversal done when our relationship got to that point. We were married in April of 2000.
In November of 2003 we decided to start looking into finding a doctor to have the reversal done. I began searching the web and right away found Dr. Levin. I called Dr. Levin’s office and the staff was very friendly and sent information on what steps I would have to take next in order to get the procedure done. I had my tubal reversal on February 19th, 2004. David and I stayed at the beautiful Jewish Inn, compliments of Dr. Levin. Dr. Levin was absolutely wonderful. I couldn’t have searched the world over and found a more down to earth yet professional doctor and staff. I have to be honest. I was very sore and couldn't get around very well at the beginning. But after about two weeks I was as good as new.
Once my husband and I were able to start trying to conceive it took five months and we got the result we had been praying for. I found out on September 30, 2004 that I was pregnant. We couldn't have been more tickled. I called Dr. Levin as soon as their office opened that morning. He sent orders for blood work and a pregnancy test at the hospital and by 9:30 a.m. we had the official result. Dr. Levin’s nurse called us personally to let us know we had indeed conceived.
I get chills just thinking back to that day. I had to get blood work done once a week for a month just to make sure my blood levels were rising like they were supposed to. I couldn't wait until that month was over. The pregancy went well. On May 28th, 2005 our son Colby Christopher was borned. He weighed 8 lbs. and 4 oz. and was 21.5 inches long. There hasn’t been a day that goes by that I don't think of Dr. Levin and his staff in amazement.
I Thank God everyday for sending me to Dr. Levin’s website and for being with Dr. Levin through the surgery. Our son is definitely a miracle from God.
