Dear Dr. Levin,
I'm e-mailing you about the birth of our miracle baby Khristian Elyshah Sincell. All babies are miracles but our's is proof that God still performs miracles today. Here is our story.
After the birth of my second child I had a tubal. For a while I was fulfilled with my children. Then when my youngest turned three I decided that I wasn't ready for that part of my life to be over yet. So in October 2002 I started searching for information about a tubal reversal. That is when I found Dr. Levin's web-site. In the same month we met with Dr. Levin to see if a tubal reversal was possible. And it was!!!!
God blessed us to be able to pay for the surgery in just three months. So my reversal was scheduled for 3/3/03. By July of 2003 we were expecting. Everything was going as expected and we found out that we were having a girl which was exactly what we wanted. In my 27th week which was in January. 2004, I had my antibody screen because of my negative blood type. I found out then that my blood was making antibodies to fight against the baby. Every two weeks I had to see a high risk doctor in Lexington, KY. After the first visit I had to have an amniocentesis each visit. She was finally delivered at 35 weeks at Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, KY. She weighed in at 6lb 9.7ozs 20.5in long.
As soon as she was delivered she was sent to the NICU were she spent the next 13 days. One week after her birth she was diagnosed with having a fatal heart disease called Pompe's Disease. She was believed to have this disease because of poor feeding and abnormal EKG's Echo cardiograms which also showed an enlarged heart. As you can imagine we were devastated and had churches everywhere and of every faith praying. She was 14 days old when she was sent to UK children's hospital in Lexington, KY. to see a pediatric cardiologist. When we arrived they started immediately testing her for the disease. A child that would not suck a bottle suddenly started eating and all her tests came back normal. God healed our baby that day. She spent that night at UK hospital and was sent back home the very next day with a clean bill of health. To this day she is still anemic from the RH blood problem during my pregnancy but has not had to have a blood transfusion. I also forgot to mention that she was born almost one year to the day 3/2/04.
I would like to thank you Dr. Levin for a job well done and for being so concerned when I called you about the RH blood problem and your phone calls to check on me really meant a lot. I thank God for leading us to find you. Thank you so much.
