After an extremely bad relationship and nasty divorce(July 1996), I had my tubes tied (triple cautery) in Dec. of 1997. Lo and behold - I met my, now, husband in Feb of 1998 (on Valentines day). We were instant soul mates. We were married on April 22, 2000. We started thinking about children, but decided to wait a while before exploring the Tubal Reversal. My husband has 3 boys and I have a boy and girl, so we already had 5 combined. His youngest started living with us in 2000, so we had 3 children at home and occasional visits from the older two (long story). We finally decided to go ahead and work on getting the surgery done. We wanted just one more baby, one together, one to share the love and awesome relationship we have. I did research forever and I kept coming back to Dr. Levin. I finally spoke to him and he looked at my post op report and gave me the encouragement I was looking for when my local doctors were not.
He has been such a God-send to us. In May of 2002 (mother's day weekend), my husband and I made the trip to KY and enjoyed walking along the river the day before the surgery. Recovery was not nearly as bad as I expected. We flew home the day after surgery and I even attended my daughters school concert that night. My tube length was 4.5 and 5.5.
Much to our surprise, in July we found out I was pregnant. My Dr. wanted an immediate ultrasound to make sure the pregnancy was not in the tube. So at 5 weeks along, we saw 2 sacs. I was cautioned by the Dr. about the possibility of one not making it. I started bleeding at 7 weeks along and was sure I was losing either one or both of the babies. However, at the ER, both babies hearts were beating strongly. The Dr. said at 12 weeks, if both are still there, then you will have twins. There they were at 12 weeks growing right on schedule. The pregnancy was way different that with one. More morning sickness, getting big really quick, water retention like you wouldn't believe, nausea, constant bathroom breaks, did I mention BIG! We found out at 16 weeks they were both girls. I carried until 1 day shy of 37 weeks and then my water broke at 3:15am and contractions started right away. Things progressed very quickly. By the time we reached the hospital, I was contracting about every two minutes and was 5 centimeters dialated. They gave me an epidural and I was then 7 cm. Next they wheeled me to the Operating room (in case the 2nd twin did not descend the right way). My 1st daughter Taylor was born at 7:47 am and 2nd daughter Morgan was born at 8:07am with no complications. Taylor weighed 6lbs 6oz and Morgan was 5lbs 12oz. The older children are really enjoying the twins and am I glad they are there to help!
I can never thank Dr. Levin enough for the work that he does in blessing women with a second chance to become happy moms again. I feel our family is complete now (especially that we received a 2 for 1) :)
