Dr. Levin, I've been thinking about you and your staff the past few days and I thought now would be a great time to send you that testimonial I have waited so long to do!
Like most women who have had a tubal ligation, I too, was going through a very rough time in my life. I was only 24 when my family pressured me into doing this. I knew it wasn't what I wanted. Shortly after having this done, on February 13th 1992, a friend told me she heard they could undo it. Well, I asked my doctor about it and he said no. I gave up any hope at that time of ever having another child.
In August of 1999 I was taken to the Emergency Room to learn that I was having a miscarriage, an ectopic pregnancy. At that time the doctor I was seen by wanted to "finish the job" and cut and burn my tubes. I had the Hulka Clips on. I couldn't do it. I was taking this as a sign that there was still hope. Over that weekend I did some research on the Internet and I found a support group Tubal Ligation Reversals, on AOL. These women sent me all kinds of information that helped me find Dr. Levin.
After making a few phone calls and speaking with Dr. Levin and his staff, I knew this was the doctor that was going to help us! On November 12th 2000, we made our journey from Iowa to Kentucky. The next day I met with Dr. Levin and had my surgery. All went well! Three days later I had my staples removed and was given a very warm hug by Dr. Levin and was sent on my way. All the people at Jewish Hospital were very professional, warm and caring people. The service didn't stop there though.
In April I had taken a home pregnancy test which was POSITIVE !! Dr. Levin ordered a blood test for me to confirm the pregnancy. He kept in contact with me during the next few weeks as my own local doctor had thought that I was having a "blighted ovum" pregnancy and wanted to do a D&C. Dr. Levin saved my baby with his knowledge and warm caring heart. He took time out of his vacation to send me e-mails and phone calls. He went out of his way to help us at this very difficult time. I can't say enough about this man. He is truly a gift from God. Our baby is due December 8th 2001 and I definitely have Dr. Levin to thank for that! Thank you Dr. Levin, you are truly a wonderful person and a great doctor!
