Case Facts: Caroline first contacted Dr. Richard Levin on July 12, 2002 asking about a tubal ligation reversal. In December 1994 at the age of 24, Caroline had a Falope Ring tubal sterilization performed. Dr. Levin performed her reversal under his operating microscope on March 31, 2003 with tube lengths of 7 cm on the right and 6 on the left. The case was picture perfect. Older and Wiser It's a good thing there are people like Dr. Levin out there for those of us who think we know better when we are young! I had a tubal ligation in 1994 at the age of 24, four years after having my daughter. I was convinced I didn't want any more children. Well, four years after that, I found myself out of a long term marriage, nearing 30, and changing my mind about those kids! I married my present husband in 2002, and we both agreed it would be nice to have a child together, although we each had one already. My husband and I joked that we had the "Internet" relationship (we set up our dates via e-mail, found our wedding rings online, planned our honeymoon online, etc.), so it seemed logical to search for a tubal ligation reversal surgeon online as well! At the time I had been going to a fertility clinic near our then residence in Northern California, but was discouraged by their success rates. After getting online, I found Dr. Levin, and was impressed by his credentials and his web site. I did some further research and decided to go for it. Since I had been through a lot of tests and such already, I only had a few questions for Dr. Levin, but appreciated his straightforward, "let's get this done" manner. I went ahead and scheduled the surgery and planned for our trip from our new residence, Washington State, to Kentucky. I had the surgery on March 31, 2003. I found the whole experience to be very smooth, easy, and well planned. We stayed at the Hampton Inn a couple of nights and had no problems at all. Dr. Levin was very professional, competent, and caring. He explained everything, as well as the support he provides to help his patients get pregnant if it doesn't happen right away. Well, we went home, and...no pregnancy. I got within the 6-8 month time frame that Dr. Levin recommended I contact him in if nothing had happened. I was feeling kind of down at this point, and called Dr. Levin. He was supportive and outlined a plan for helping me get pregnant. However, my husband was determined that it happen the good old fashioned way, so although feeling discouraged, I thought I would wait until it had been a year. We took a trip to Arizona in December, driving over 500 miles of ice...something about that bumpy road must have helped things, because in late January 2004 I found out I was pregnant! I had an uneventful, healthy pregnancy, and delivered our beautiful, miracle baby boy on September 22, 2004. Cullen Bradley Bryce weighed 8 lbs. 3 oz., was 21 inches long, and is a precious bundle of joy! We could not be holding this baby in our arms were it not for the skill of Dr. Levin in performing this surgery.
