8. CERVICAL CULTURES:

Various chronic infections found within the uterine cavity are known to cause both infertility and recurrent abortions (miscarriages). In order to detect these infections, it is necessary to take cultures with a sterile cotton tipped swab. Such specimens may be sent to an outside lab and the results would then be available within 2-3 days. If any such infections are found, a prescription for antibiotics would be given to you and probably your husband as well.
